Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Social Design and Deputy Director of the Centre for Human-Inspired AI (CHIA)
Dr Ramit Debnath is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Social Design and Deputy Director of the Centre for Human-Inspired AI (CHIA). Ramit is an elected member of the Methods Advisory Group (MAG) of the UK Government. He is the director of Cambridge Collective Intelligence and Design Group and climaTRACES Lab. Ramit’s research advances computational social science methodologies for climate and environmental sustainability by addressing hard questions associated with responsible design of AI systems for public good. He is a Fellow of Churchill College and Cambridge Zero, and holds a visiting academic role at Caltech, where he leads the Climate and Social Intelligence Lab. Ramit has a background in electrical engineering and social sciences, with a MPhil and a PhD from the University of Cambridge as a Gates Scholar.
