Islamic finance adviser & Shariah auditor
Najib is a UK-based Islamic finance adviser, trainer, and Shariah auditor with over 15 years of rich and diverse expertise. Throughout his career, he has led numerous pioneering consultancy projects and Shariah audit engagements in the Islamic finance and Takaful sectors in 50+ countries. His work included advising governments in over 25 countries to develop enabling Islamic finance and Takaful policy frameworks and infrastructure across Asia, Africa, and Europe. He has also played a pivotal role in facilitating and launching Islamic banking, investment, and Takaful operations in numerous jurisdictions including UK, Bahrain, Oman, USA, and Canada.
Najib contributes to industry thought leadership through his work with policymakers and standard-setting bodies, advocating for higher standards of Shariah authenticity. He is a member of the “UK Islamic Finance Task Force” chaired by Lord Sharkey and serves as a Trustee at the Riba Free Foundation (RFF), a UK nonprofit promoting a Riba-free lifestyle through education, advocacy, and signposting.
